ZOMBIES

A haiku
Groaning getting loud
Barricades won't hold for long
Nice knowing you all

Instantly identifiable and amazingly recognisable, truly they are a god send all wrapped up in a lurching, moaning, trying to claw its way to the inside of your skull shaped present, with a pretty little bow on top (coloured red gore with spots of skull white of course).
There is no game that could not be improved with the addition of zombies:

• Mario Vs. Zombic - at the Fvangcouver Olympic Graves
• Fifa - one team starts with only one zombie. It has to infect other team before 5 goals are scored.

You can’t offend anyone by killing them. There are no zombie rights activists. You can have whichever shadowy conspiracy you want, from bungling governments to sinister corporations, from random mutation in the wild to deliberate terrorist activity, or even Dr Eggman finally revealing how he got his P.H.D.

Fighting against zombies can run the whole range of experiences from careful sniping them off one by one from half a mile away, to charging forward, a song in you heart and grin on your lips and a shotgun booming in your hand. We accept all styles here madam.

Nor in this enlightened PC multicultural age are you limited to the type of zombie your grandfather had to deal with. Oh no with 28 days later, left 4 dead and the only reason I bought COD - World At War, introducing us to a whole new generation of zombies not content to stagger in their forefathers footsteps. Forging new directions in the never ending search for brains, they can now climb, run, vomit on you and even, and this I dare say only in a whisper so as not to overwhelm the more excitable portion of the population, can be Nazis!

Whenever you have a choice between two games ask which one has the Z factor. Individually we have little power to make the mighty behemoth of the games machine recognise the potential of this awesome foe, but like the hero of my piece, working mindlessly together, we can drag it down and gnaw on the squidgy innards within. by Neil Roberts
