Developed and published by Nintendo, Wii Party is a party video game and the latest addition in the min-game party series. Developed for the Wii video game console, it was released on October 8 in Europe. All the games in this title were produced by Shigeru Miyamoto.
Divided in to three categories, namely Party Games, Pair Games, and House Party Games, Wii Party is available in thirteen different game modes that integrate the use of eighty mini-games. Other than these thirteen game play modes, it also offers additional modes to play funny mini-games.
As the name itself suggests, it is a party game, and therefore, it is definitely not for a solo player. It is a multiplayer game that can be played by four persons who compete against each other. One of the players rolls a die and progresses through the indicated steps. The player who manages to reach the final destination first wins the game. The game requires two or more players to play either competitively or cooperatively.
The game features Mii characters in thirteen play modes. It is divided into three categories:
- Party Games: These are the games where players compete against each other. Board Game Island and Globe Trot are two modes in this category. In these modes, players travel around different locations on Earth, such as Egypt, India, or the United States to buy photographs, cuisines, and other shopping items. The player who reaches the end first and collects the most photographs and money wins the game.
- Pair Games: Only two players can play these games either cooperatively or competitively.
- House Party Games: These games require two or more players and focus on physical interactions between the players with the Wii remote.
The most exciting games in Wii Party are Board Game Island, Animal Tracker, Hide n Hunt, Derby Dash, and Chop Chops.
