Review
Sonic Colors is the 13th installment in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Released on November 12th 2010 in Europe. This recently launched platform game sees Sonic bounce and dash around in a colorful high-speed manor.
"Sonic the Hedgehog races through incredible theme park inspired worlds to rescue a colourful alien race from the clutches of Dr Eggman. An extraordinary amusement park has been seen orbiting around the home planet of Sonic the Hedgehog, and rumours are spreading that an alien race of Wisps, who have a unique colourful energy, are being held captive there by the evil Dr Eggman. Soon after arriving at the amusement park Sonic discovers he is able to use these mysterious alien forces to help the Wisps escape! Sonic Colours for the Wii seamlessly combines both 3D and classic 2D game play perspectives".
This is a bit similar but remarkably improved than Sonic Unleashed. The game is on sale for Wii and Nintendo DS platforms. The Wii version employs both 2D and 3D angles, and the Nintendo DS version harnesses the power of the dual screens.

The Wii version of Sonic Colors can be played with Wii remote and nunchuck, Nintendo GameCube controller, and Wii remote independently. Apart from this, other features include the following:
- Colored energy is gained from wisps which can be obtained progressively. They help in exploring new areas and easy traversal of the game environments. The Wii version comes with a total of eight wisps!
- A sonic simulator mode: Players face a series of challenges to achieve chaos emeralds. This can be played either alone or in a competitive mode. Further, there are special rings that transform the sonic to supersonic! This is for the first time in the entire history of sonic 3D games!
- It has a challenge mode that offers continuous mode play and at all levels.

The DS version operates with button controls and stylus control during certain special stages. Unlike the Wii version, there are a total of six wisps available during the play. The Nintendo DS gameplay include the following:
- Special stages that offers spheres of specific color which can be used to unlock an extra stage. This is unique and new to DS version!
- Competitive multiplayer mode, time attack, and missions are the other special facets of the game. Like Wii, there is also an online leader-board that allows you to update you score instantly.
From 3D level designs, to energy boost from wisps, interplanetary travels, and apt music, sonic colors become the realization of fun- and energy-filled gamers dream!
