Skylanders Spyro's Adventure is a virtual-world game available for most gaming consoles. The game is also available for web players. Primarily for young children, the game takes place in Skylanders, an imaginary place where toys come alive. Players serve as Portal Masters and have control over more than 30 characters each. Spyro is the popular dragon. The Adventure begins with players selecting characters to be teleported into the virtual realm. Portal Masters can team up or play against one another. This can change throughout the game. The mission of players is always to protect Skylands. The story is presented in such a way that every player believes they are the only one capable of saving Skylands.

To team up, players simultaneously add their figures to the Portal of Power. Depending upon the battle, characters learn various strategies to beat enemies and overcome obstacles. Battles are available in various arenas and modes with the goal to become the definitive Portal Master.
