To complement the vocal side, every track has the artist’s music video which plays along to the track. The principles behind the game scoring go from the player’s pitch and timing of rhythm being as accurate to the original artist, the closer the higher the score. In practice, it is hard to cheat. SingStar can spot foul play if you were to use say a CD vocal, and as for humming that will only get you so far with your friend. Some SingStar games come bundled with 2 wireless microphones 1 Red and 1 Blue with USB leads to connect to the console. You can purchase the genuine microphones separately since many other SingStar versions came only with the DVD game to retail cheaper.
Frequent competitions take place on SingStar online. With Eye-Toy the PS3 camera you can shoot your own VT and upload photos. One other benefit of the PSN with the PS3 SingStar games you can purchase and download new music direct from the PSN network.

SingStar Volume 3 is the best selling PS3 title of the thirteen titles, but only the sixth SingStar PS3 game in the series. It should be mentioned SingStar PS1 & PS2 games are not compatible with PS3 console as a general rule of thumb (the origional PS3 60GB now discontinued would be the odd exception) See also Lips singing game for Xbox 360
