Review
Red Steel 2 has a Wild West theme, based in the fictional town of Caldera. Sounds familiar enough to the Red Steel 1, though not quite. Nintendo Wii’s Red Steel 2 gets a major overhaul this time out, it’s all new! Starting with the character “The Swordsman” a hard-as-nails protagonist carrying a gun, wearing a cowboy hat, showing-off a huge samurai sword not even Zorro would want to mess with.
Gameplay has been altered to correspond with the MotionPlus features. One great addition is being able to deflect bullets with your sword (the katana). Battle up-to six enemies at once with either weapon, in addition to being able to run, look around and attack simultaneously. Ubisoft dedicated gameplay in Red Steel 2 purely for the single player experience. No multiplayer game modes are present – bizarre for a first-person shooter on any other console but Wii.
The collector’s edition is believed to have an exclusive un-lockable playable character (Payne), plus 2 more guns, 2 blades and art book.
