Review
The Professor Layton puzzle-videogame series by Nintendo DS and Level-5 has been proving to be quite popular. The series comprises of four games and one film where each title is a series of puzzles and mysteries that need to be solved.
The newest addition in the series is Professor Layton and the Lost Future. This game will be officially released in the UK on September 12th 2010. In this game, Professor Layton and his apprentice Luke receive a letter from 10 years in the future, sent by no one else but Luke himself. The letter talks about London and its dismal state which leads to a journey by the professor and his trustworthy sidekick through a time machine into the future. In this third game of the Professor Layton trilogy, the puzzle-solving professor faces tricky tasks that revolve around jumbled time. The method to play the game and the storytelling style is still the same. It follows the original first-person format where you have to collect hint coins and solve all the smaller puzzles to get the clues to solve the final big mystery. The puzzles are still compatible with the DS touch-screen and provide bonuses upon solving.
The game has many interesting features such as–
- More than 165 new logic puzzles and riddles that weave seamlessly into the storyline.
- A new superhint option that will help you solve a puzzle if you still can't solve it after the three existing hint options.
- You will also be able to download new puzzles every week after the game's official launch for a limited time.
- The sequences are better and improved with more hand-drawn animations and voice acting.
Professor Layton series' fans have another reason to look forward to... this game features many characters from the past such as Inspector Chelmey and Statchen. All the Layton fanatics, it's only a matter of time when you will be able to lay your hands on this newest addition.
