Gamers across the globe waited with anticipation for the release of the PlayStation Vita 3G. Many of those who have gotten theirs already are calling it one of the most powerful handheld game machines that have ever hit the market. For those who may be new to gaming, the PlayStation Vita 3G is Sony's newest handheld gaming device. It is something of a sequel to the company's old PSP. Sony hopes that this new game will be able to compete against Nintendo's 3DS system. Because of some of the new innovations seen in the Vita 3G, they might just pull it off.

One of the most noticeable features of the Vita 3G is its solid feel. The console is clean and crisp and users say they love the way it feels in their hands. But the game has a lot of other features going for it, too. Many, in fact.

The Vita 3G offers users access to a front camera as well as a back camera. Users can listen to music on the unit as well as watch videos. The screen is sharp and crisp and its touch features are responsive. The Vita is available in either a Wi-Fi or 3G capable format and it easily integrates with Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets. One of its more unique features is that is a motion sensitive device which make take some getting used to for new users. It has been confirmed that the business will favour Vodafone by including ready to go SIMs inside the console box to allow current customers to register and use a 1 month trial of their data plan to allow new customers who have purchased a Vita access to 3G Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide. Users can download games via the online store or can buy games through retail outlets such as WalMart (Asda) Supermarket.

The Vita 3G offers dual control sticks which many gamers prefer. It also includes a completely original touch-panel located on the back of the device. For ease of use, the device offers access ports for digital card formats.

The OLED touchscreen enables high sophistication and makes gaming extremely controllable. The front and rear cameras are the cherry on the cake. The sleek, thin looks are enough to make your heart melt. Sound, graphics and display are of cutting-edge technology. The inbuilt stereo and microphone, sis-axis motion sensors, and mobile network connectivity promise to fit your entire world on your palm. You never have to look up from the screen to connect.

A great benefit that users comment on is that all of these features work in sync with each other. The features, touch screen, dual sticks, and control buttons, all work together seamlessly to make the user feel as if he or she is total control. Users will also appreciate the eye-popping visuals that make the game system feel a lot like playing a full scale console system.

In addition to the above, the Vita also includes GPS functions (ideal for Google.co.uk/Maps), flash card memory utilizations, an ARM Cortex A9 4-core CPU, built-in microphone, and Bluetooth 2.1.

A truly unique feature of the Vita console is its ability to implement what is being called Augmented Reality (AR). With front and rear cameras, users can now turn virtually any surface (such as a table or desk top) into a fight ring, battlefield, or office boardroom. Those who are new to AR may wish to visit some online sites that have samples of this incredible technology available for preview. AR simply changes everything! You have to see it to believe it.

With this kind of press, it is no wonder that Sony's new PlayStation Vita 3G is selling like mad. Early indications were correct that many skint Sony fans have traded their PS3 in-stores, in order to afford the new pricey console. Yikes, that's a pity, because Vita will let you continue to play your PS3 games over the cloud.

Why buy the 3G version? You should consider this model to allow your PS Vita to access the Internet when you are not connected to a broadband access point. A pay as you go Mobile data plan can cost as little as £10 per month from mobile phone operators - Vodafone, Three, O2, Orange and T-Mobile. A Vodafone PAYG sim comes inside to help get you started. The UK Playstation Vita 3G version is UNLOCKED, so you can swap SIMs. Providing you have a 3G data sim, Sony will let you use your Blackberry or iPhone Sim card.

What can you do with a Vita 3G that you can't with a Wi-Fi only version? The PS Vita system and features are the same besides one has a 3G chip for mobile internet data, ONE DOESNT AND CAN'T BE UPGRADED. Sony say “no exclusive features for one and not the other”. However, there is always a possibly Sony will launch exclusive GPS apps, or location based games.

What else will I need? Definitely consider buying a memory card, plus a pair of earphones, a screen cloth, and carry case.
