Nintendo has confirmed a larger screen DSi console is coming to the UK in 2010. The new Nintendo DSi XL will cost around £149. The DSi XL features bigger 4.2 inch screens and has a new longer stylus pen, called XL Touch Pen. DSi XL comes pre-loaded with three games: DSiWare Brain Training 1 & 2, plus a Dictionary DSiWare App. DSi XL promises to bring multi-player gaming for two on one console. Hence the screen size has been upped to by 3cm, making the XL 100 grams heavier. The new XL touch pen resembles a ball-point pen which no longer slots into the consoles case as it did on the DS/DS Lite and DSi consoles. I bought my first DS console in the sales after Christmas one year. The games Sonic Rush and Mario March of the Minis were part of the two games Bundle on offer at Amazon (best price on the day). My ds lasted well. Four years in fact. In the end I gave it to my sister and ordered a dsi xl deal from Tesco Direct (not available in store for that price) who offered better games in their console bundle than Play.com Game.co.uk Amazon.co.uk at the time. The hardware has been improved considerably, the XL’s cases are stronger and the lcd screens are tough enough to withstand being dropped, getting water spilt on and wiped off all without breaking the DSi XL. When the 3DS came out, the 3D game line up was ok, but I was not ready to trade in until the new red console went on sale. After carefully considering it can also play all cartridge Nintendo DS games and DSi digital download apps, I bought the new hardware and have been impressed. My advice would be to buy a new 3DS pre-owned online instead of buying an XL console on the high street for the same price.

I found the Nintend DSi XL in Wine Red - after a weekend queing up in all the GAME stores around here to find one. makes me wonder why i didn't try shopping online to begin with? Saved twenty pounds on a great bundle deal :) Thanks
