Criterion Games' Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit presents a thrilling vicarious racing experience. The latest in the NFS series released this November 2010 may be the closest to the real thing you'd ever come across, or maybe better, as you can race at speeds that are just not practical in the real world.

Hot Pursuit gameplay
Hot Pursuit in an oversimplified category, is largely a catch-me-if-you-can kind of game, with fully licensed exotic cars racing in fictional locales in North America. You can either be the cop or the racer. Your job as the police is to chase the errant racers. As the racer, you have the thrilling job of outracing cops and racers alike and setting your own high scores. The gameplay always left me wanting to have another go - something that was missing from the previous NFS game?

• A social interaction mode called Autolog has been developed in the latest Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. In this you can keep track of your and others' scores and positions and aim to outrace them!
• Both single-player and multi-player options (maximum of eight players) are available.
• You can play your own soundtracks for your games.
• Both cops and racers have weapons in the form of spike strips and EMP blasts to disable cars.
• The scenery is the scene-stealer with life-like weather conditions as you can choose to play in the picturesque desert, mountainous, beach, or forest regions of fictional Seacrest County. You can also download more cars and tracks from the website.
