Call of Duty (CoD) won over 70 Game of the Year awards and 50 Editor's Choice Awards. CoD was the 1st Xbox 360 game to sell over a million copies. Figuratively speaking this is nothing compared to the 11 million copies the previous game CoD World at War has sold since going on sale in 2009. Right now one of the most anticipated games on the radar is Modern Warfare 2. The sequel to the incredible Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Not only would this be the perfect choice for someone that is into games that are jam-packed with action and fighting within a war setting - but it would make for a great challenge for any serious gamer that loves to get in the middle of all the action.
Modern Warfare 2 picks-up from where it ended in Modern Warfare. Technology has been amped up to make the game look better. Using a new streaming technology Infinity Ward are able to make larger worlds, more detailed hitting a maximum fps on PS3. The level of attention to detail in Modern Warfare 2 is on another level. Footprints in the snow are completely individual to the character. As far as basic tactics go, getting the upper-hand in firing in the dark, one essential bit of kit a veteran SAS solider wouldn't be without, is Night Vision Goggles (NVG only in the prestige edition game) Get them! The story (without spoilers): Gladamere Macaron is unleashing a wave of terror around the globe. As before you can switch characters, entre Roach of the British SAS. The teaser shows Roach and his buddy Soap MacTavish climbing up a snowy mountain (vertically with ice picks) to infiltrate a Russian Airbase. Soap is now a Captain. The cinematic of the game are straight out of Hollywood if you want to liken the studio quality. A new heartbeat sensor lets you detect the presence of human beings for those stealth campaigns. On the flipside, pick up your trusty M5 and run and gun your way through it if you prefer blood and glory tactics. This option will be a lot harder. The levels aren't just on foot. You get to battle on Snowmobile and other armoured vehicles. The first outing was rather dry, Modern Warfare 2 is far from that, having huge Underwater, Jungle, and City and Snow Level maps.
