Medal of Honor (MoH) is a first-person-shooter games series, in which a squad of hardened soldiers face various challenges in the act of duty. The gamer can become one of the characters and play different missions which are all related to a war or battle. The first MoH game was set in World War II. Ever since the first release there have been several games and expansion packs (more than 10) which have been released over the years in different formats. PC, Playstation, PS2/3 and Xbox versions. The game is published by DreamWorks Interactive which is now known as Electronic Arts or EA, and has spawned a new genre of gaming. The best part is that this series was created by Director - Steven Spielberg, a filmmaker of repute.
MoH 2010 Gameplay
The new Medal of Honor game is based on the ongoing conflicts in present day country of Afghanistan. The plot hovers around a special group of operatives who have unique skills to eliminate the enemy. The players will become one of these warriors and step into the hostile and unforgiving battlefield of Afghanistan and role play as a soldier on the super elite group called "Tier 1" to try to achieve missions given to them. This is the first time in its decade old history that another battlefield and timeline is used in Medal of Honor instead of the WWII.
The developers have used actual footage and scenes from the Afghanistan war, including recruiting actual combatants as consultants, to provide and render a much realistic and most authentic take on the war complete with modern warfare techniques and weapons. There are single and multi-player campaigns within the gameplay.
Consoles: Medal of Honor will be released on 3 different platforms: PC (off the shelf and downloadable on purchase), PS3 and Xbox360. Pre-order for scheduled UK release on 12th October 2010.
