After the huge success of LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule decided to launch LittleBigPlanet 2 (LBP2) for Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3). The one question that arises is that is it worth spending on a game that is merely a sequel to another? It must have that extra punch in it to prompt players to go easy on their pockets for this very new version of a previous game.
The good news is that it has so much packed into it that it goes beyond the levels of a sequel. It is a whole new gaming experience – be it in the area of game levels or in the portrayal of characters. The camera system is excellent. LBP2 has Playstation Move compatible features. A mere look at the trailer will leave you in a trance. Imagine what happens when the whole game comes to you.
With a bunch of brand new tools we can see and control actions never seen before. LittleBigPlanet 2 is not anymore a gaming platform, but a whole new platform for games. In this new version, players not only play games but are given controls to create games for themselves. These games can be racing, puzzles, space invaders clones, role play games, and also real-time strategy games.
The sharing system has also been changed completely by Media Molecule. This makes it possible for you to share your creations at multiple levels. This means that you can effectively chain entire games. This also includes cut scenes. The new version also offers the ability to copy and paste versions of one object in another game. Taking off from the first version of the game, LittleBigPlanet 2 has a lot new to see. There are 75 new costumes, dozens of sticker packs, and a whole lot of new creations.
The graphical aspect of the game has been given an overhauling. The new version offers the facility of real time lighting that is also adjustable. In an attempt to fix the first version's "floaty" control system the makers have assigned unique movement settings to each object.
All that now remains to be done is the launch of the game. Once it reaches the shelves it might not stay there for long. Get ready to take off on a brand new adventure and venture into a world never seen before.
