Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 combines the magical world of Harry Potter with the Lego franchise. The video game is available on a multitude of platforms, including Nintendo DS and Wii, Windows, Playstation 3, 2, and PSP, and finally the Xbox 360. The game is just the latest to be released in the Lego series, after Indiana Jones and Batman, and is set to be released on June 25th, 2010.
Lego Harry Potter is set in a similar style of other Lego games, with a focus on exploring and collecting items rather than combat. As would be expected in the Harry Potter universe, casting spells are an important part of gameplay, and much of the game is spent unlocking these spells, such as Wingardium Leviosa and Immobulus. Another integral part of the Harry Potter experience is potion making, and potion brewing objectives are used to complete levels. Adverse effects are numerous and hilarious, for example, turning into a frog.
The game follows the format of the books/movies, and the player must advance along the Harry's timeline, starting with the Dursleys up to releasing Sirius from Azkaban. There are a whole multitude of playable characters, including (of course) Harry Potter, Ron Weasely, Draco Malfoy, Albus Dumbledore, Dobby, and even a centaur or two. Characters have their own particular ability, all which is determined by their literary counterparts. Harry is an excellent Quidditch player, and as such can even cast jinxes while riding his broomstick.

- Year 2 - Harry and Ron (Chamber of Secrets): Fly the car to Hogwarts
- Year 3 - Harry Potter (Prisoner of Azkaban): Get Sirius
- Year 4 - Harry Potter (Goblet of Fire): Play the Quidditch World Cup
As with other Lego games, Harry Potter supports co-op play, and with PS3 and Xbox 360, online co-op is also supported. The game also has the full Harry Potter soundtrack from the movies, so you can have the whole Hogwarts experience.
Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 looks to be another excellent addition in the Lego video game franchise, with the same colorful graphics and entertaining game play. With it's release imminent, Lego Harry Potter may prove itself a popular game for the summer of 2010. – by Lauren
