Infographic Legend

First and foremost we aim to show accurate prices, accurate descriptions and accurate in stock information. At Game Stock we go to a great deal of effort writing specialised systems and software for our niche; to make the Internet a better place, where shoppers can trust we are showing correct information at the right time, all of the time, rather than habitually manually clicking through all the list of stores to find the best deal. Large scale price comparison Shopping Results update once per month. Another problem is that the prices shown are not correct, nor have ever been reported as incorrect.

Frustrating by Goofle? It is great advertising showing cheap furniture for £199, but when a buyer reads the small print "£199 when bought with a new conservatory" you can see where the robots are flawed. Online, prices can change twice per day, over a month, the savings are big. Google Search has no concept of new versus old and good versus poor deals, unlike humans do.

Key to buying with Confidence

Red Button | Yellow Button | Orange Button | Green Button

Why do we bother showing Stock statuses? Consider this strategy. An Online Shop has the cheapest price however you can't buy it online because it's ‘Sold Out’. What are you going to do - visit your local shop, by Bus, Train, Cycle or Car? When you arrive, the in-store price is way higher, on the plus side, it's in stock, so you buy it overpriced on a whim.

After all it is great advertising that costs nothing for a Shop to claim to have the best price, but never actually sell it at that low price.

When the Yellow Button shows ‘Check Stock’ that means the game stock checker is working. Our algorithms are highly complex and if need be, we offer email alerts, as when popular items come in stock after being out of stock, they sell fast, as in the case of Wii Fit during 2009-2010. http://www.gamestock.co.uk/how-to-order-wii-fit

Our stock checkers show the price it was when it sold out 98% of the time. Out of stock price changes are not updated, for the reason above.

Is it worth being notified when the product comes in stock by email? Maybe it could be, though from our experience, it will be dearer when it comes back in stock. What do we recommend – come back the next day to check stock again, if they're still out of stock then buy from elsewhere.

When the Red Button shows ‘Out of Stock’ that means the game stock checker is no longer checking for new stock of the product, for a number of good reasons. It is safe to assume the product has reached the ‘End of Line’. Though, there are exceptions:

Exceptions to Sold Out stock. Sometimes a product reaches end of line, but then gets re-released as part of a collection – as in ‘Playstation Platinum’ or ‘Xbox Classic’ or ‘Nintendo Select’, and Game of the Year Edition packages. In this scenario we switch to the newer version, if it is in stock. (The release date shown on the page and the page title might reflect the original release date and version, but the actual product, price and in stock availability is checking the newer version.) This is more helpful than having several webpages with the same game title.

When the Orange Button is showing for a product, it means the product is a pre-order and can be ordered online. Payment is usually taken when the item is dispatched. Amazon, and The Hut group have preorder price promises. You pay the lowest selling price they sold it for during pre-orders. GAME group often have limited edition versions of games, to make like for like price comparison not possible. You can see the pre-order bonus comparison table at the lower part of product page.

When the Green Button is showing, hopefully the product is in stock. This is the safest sign to buy and receive delivery in the quickest time. Though, there are exceptions: Overselling due to high demand. Cloaking. System Errors etc.
