At one point in our lives most of us always wanted to own a pet Tiger, now is your chance. The magical world of Kinectimals offers you the opportunity to choose your playmate on a hi-definition island. These include different wild cats - Lions, Cheetahs, Panthers and Bengal Tigers who respond when you call them and who can do tricks through audio and video gestures.
Kinectimals Xbox 360 is Microsoft's answer to Sony's My Pet or Nintendo's Nintendogs. The game is clever, joyous, and interesting - never with a dull moment because you are always looking to gain points to unlock the next item. It comes with both single-player and multiplayer options that make it all the more thrilling. This magical journey has elements of pet simulators, yet manages to carve its own distinct identity because of its unique Disney-style presentation techniques. |
In the game, you can adopt any of the wild cats, name it, and take a series of challenges. On successfully completing each step, you will be able to unlock a new toy or a new area of the yet-to-be explored Island. The game is more of an adventure ride without any definite solid story line. There is no room for danger and its gameplay is highly interactive for those not seeking a run of the mill enemy annihilation safari - Kinectimals features no shotguns. Nothing in this game is complicated or tough; it is purely a fun ride designed to make you laugh like a child. Watching your onscreen pet imitate your actions or teaching him countless tricks can keep you entertained.
On the flip side, the game seems to be a little less than accurate - an action may have two completely different outcomes. The game tends to pull you away rapidly from one setting to another. This can turn out to be quite annoying at times and spoils the fun quotient. Moreover, each mode is very compartmentalized - you do not have the option of petting your Kinectimal for playing well or following your directions. To do so, you will need to exit from the current mode and enter another. All said and done, the overall look is gorgeous to say the least and the animation quality is outstanding. Suitable for Ages 3+ (pegi certification)
