Review
For those trigger-happy kids and adults alike Homefront (X360) is a first-person shooter game to be released on March 15 2011 by Kaos Studios where you can unleash those pent-up frustrations on the real world; this is a possible future scenario as envisioned by writer, John Milius. It is set in the year 2027 with North Korea in possession of nuclear arms and threatening a frail United States; the exploration of the real, if unlikely, possibility that the world may face, with peaking oil prices and economic downturns, is what differentiates this game from the innumerous others of the same genre that dot the scene.
The Story:
Korea has united now under the rule of the forces of North Korea. USA has suffered an economic downfall and its military forces have been scattered; there is unrest as there is the threat of a North Korea-led invasion. With the United Nations no longer functioning, it is up to you the player to save the US and the world from a full-blown-out war!
Gameplay:
- There is more focus on the character in this version.
- You can expect enhanced graphics and with it a more entertaining cinematic experience.
- There is an element of decision-making as you get to choose which weapons, machines and transportation you want to buy, with the currency you earn from battle points. Sometimes you may have to outwit and capture your enemy's arms.
- The added challenge lies in the scarce number of ammunitions given to you and the greater number of adversaries.
- In the multiplayer option, you can play on the side of the United States or Korea. Up to 32 players can play - 16 on either side.
- It is compatible on Microsoft's Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and MS Windows.
In the real war-ridden world, where the action on the battleground is uniquely the soldier's experience, Homefront (X360) promises you the chance of virtual encounters; enjoy the thrill and terror of being at the wrong end of a barrel!
