Halo 3: ODST Game (Xbox 360)

Halo ODST is the latest new edition to the Halo contingent. Gone are the days of the Master Chief, ODST takes the role of the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers that are propelled into combat to fight through the streets with little weaponry. ODST offers two new weapons: a modified SMG and an incredibly accurate pistol- very fun when shooting grunts. The story is quick to complete and the levels are more open which at times offer tedious walking. However the new Firefight mode is the saviour of this game. Firefight can be played with up to four-player co-op where the only objective is to stay alive, shoot a variety of weapons and earn outrageous medals. Like online, ‘double-kills’, ‘triple-kills’ are awarded in game, making all the fighting worthwhile. Halo 3: ODST has other additional features, on Firefight is the option to choose to turn on ‘skulls’ pre-match. They basically offer another quirky aspect to the gaming experience, for instance one skull allows confetti to explode out of the grunts heads followed by a cheering ‘HOORAY’! This mixed with the quick firing and accurate pistol equals a lot of confetti.

There are two discs with Halo 3 ODST, one for campaign and one for online gaming. Unfortunately the online gaming is exactly the same but the disc has all 24 maps which previously had to been bought, so consider it a bargain. It also comes with three brand new maps that are as good as the original maps. Overall Halo 3 ODST Xbox 360 is a good game and addictive well worth purchasing. by Alexander Mowles
