Disney's Guilty Party is the first title to come from Wideload Games after being bought out by Disney Interactive. Despite the "party" in the title, Guilty Party is Disney-fied version of the board game Clue, making it a veritable whodunit mini-game collection.
Guilty Party is a mystery game starring the Dickens family, a motley family of detectives modeled after some famous super-sleuth archetypes. The grandfather is classic Sherlock Holmes, the sister straight after Murder She Wrote, and even a whiz kid dressed up as a superhero. Using one to four players, the characters work together to solve various mysteries.
The gameplay is similar to the aforementioned Clue board game. Players move through the house, discovering clues, interrogating suspects, slowly piecing together the puzzle until you can accuse the guilty culprit. Each suspect has four aspects: hair, height, weight, and gender, and there are vastly different combinations that become a variety of suspects. And these suspects aren't blank faces, but have personalities and voices of their own. As you make your way through the house for clues, the arch villain known as Mr. Valentine will set up traps trying to impede your search.
Guilty Party is looking to be a fun family game with quirky cut scenes, humorous dialogue, and lighthearted gameplay. It may just be another Disney Success. by Lauren
