Review
Forza Motorsport 4 for Xbox 360 is action-packed wheels spinning excitement. This racer has plenty of cars and lots of track. The simulation style racing is available to everyone with the new scalable controls. This is unquestionably the most configurable of the Forza Motorsport series, and there are many reasons why.
Car and gaming enthusiast will love the roar of the engines, the screech of the wheels, the variations of track, the well tuned graphics and the calendar based tournament that allows them to choose tournament and driving challenges based on individual strengths and your garage. You will also love the rewards as they progress - prize money, so you can buy new cars.
The stellar garage is one of the biggest features of Forza 4, featuring foreign and American cars. There's 400 cars, 100 track variations and the "Season Play" mode, which guides the player's career according to the cars they purchase and acquire. Every car can be purchased as long as you have the cash!
Some like it some loath it: One marmite feature of the gameplay is the option to rewind. This allows the player to return to a previous point and resume from there. This is an easy way to progress through Forza Motorosport 4, as it was also in Forza 3. Should you make a mistake, you do not need to restart again.
Another option is quick upgrade that allows the computer to do the heavy lifting when turning. The developer "Turn 10 Studios", has created two leveling systems for added realism. Driver level and a level for each car. There is a robust multiplayer component that can be customized. This creates events and game types for eight players at a time above the standard races.
Hot News
First is that Forza Motorsport 4 will include a perfectly-realised version of our Top Gear track on the Xbox 360 for the first time. And that's definitely the UK track in Dunsfold with the plane and the studio and the shambolic production office full of crisps and everything, to quash some of the internet rumours currently flying.
Second is the announcement of the new "Autovista" mode. You'll be able to explore cars rendered in over one million polygons in a full 360 degrees "showroom environment". If you've got Kinect, you'll be able to crouch down, open the doors, check out the engine and walk around the car (although it will still work with a controller). And all to the dulcet tones of our very own Jeremy, who'll deliver his own opinionated take on a selection of the models as you fiddle. http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/forza-4-top-gear-2011-06-07
Overall, the Forza 4 title looks the best of the series yet. The simulated racing has remained true to its Xbox fans, not to have been a cloned with Sony Playstation Grand Turismo attributes, hence making this title a must own game exclusive to Xbox consoles!
