Final Fantasy has been played for over two decades. It’s the mother of all RPG game franchises. By March 9th 2010, 3 years will have past since the twelfth Final Fantasy UK game release. Square Enix attribute Final Fantasy game’s success to the game’s special effects, attractive characters, in-game relationships and drama to equal a blockbuster movie; 13 promises to uphold its’ fans with this quality addition. In Final Fantasy XIII expect to see breathtaking stunning visuals created by Square Enix, applied on the “Crystal Tools graphics engine”, which can only be fully appreciated on high-def consoles.
Final Fantasy XIII has a new combat system which lets you re-assign moves to a character mid-way through combat to adapt a free flowing battle plan. One of the big gripes with Final Fantasy games before was the Active Time Battle system’s Gambit inability to change character roles and actions in real-time battles. Another big difference will be the new stronger summons. Gestalt Mode: Each Final Fantasy XIII character is tied to a summons which can fight along side you, in addition to being able to transform into a means of transport for more exciting gameplay. In Final Fantasy XIII a player could spend almost forever just exploring and playing the missions; to cast doubt on those critics’ claims “the game is linear!”
Lose yourself in the drama - 13’s immersive storyline draws players’ ever closer to a cast of intriguing characters. Will they have the strength to face their fate, or are they doomed to destroy everything they love?
