Review

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is a continuation of the ongoing story of Ezio, Altair and Desmond. It is the best and the last game to feature Ezio as well as the last game that will be set in the Renaissance era. The game stays true to the standard game play, with new additions such as a hook blade, which the characters can use to zip line through the city or snatch up their enemies for a combination attack. Using the hook blade purportedly increases your navigation speed and capability by roughly 30%. Ezio also has 300 different bombs that he can use, and the game also features a first-person platform edition, which is a wild departure from the original.

The districts of the city from the Templars have been expanded, with a district that is similar to the Brotherhood. Ezio must use a Tower Defense mini-game, to control a group of assassins and innumerable Templar soldiers in order to take equipment away. Also similar to Brotherhood, these can be sent on various missions to other regions of the world, eventually seizing control from the Templars and using the city to generate income as well as new Assassins. Assassin's Creed: Revelations is available in 3-D on all platforms, including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

You can also enjoy a multiplayer game in Revelations. With new characters and locations, you can customize your characters weaponry, guild, coat of arms and overall appearance. As you advance through the game, you will move up in your Abstergo Templar rank and be able to learn new information. In addition, the new multiplayer modalities include story-oriented quests, the Capture the Flag modality, multiplayer maps that are based on the island of Rhodes, and more.

In addition, there is a Death match, which is different from other multiplayer game play inasmuch as there is no compass that points toward your target. Instead, there is a box in the right side of the screen where your target is shown and glows blue when it is in your line of sight. There is also a simple death match, which also takes away many of your benefits and abilities in game play. With your purchase of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, you will receive a Uplay Passport, which allows you to play online in various multiplayer modes as well as played with an exclusive character called 'The Sentinel'. With this passport, you can unlock a wide variety of game modes for multiplayer game play.
